The Malaysian Society of Animal Production (MSAP) was initiated and established in 24 September 1973. MSAP is a professional society that acts as a body by and through which persons associated and/or interested in the general field of animal production could establish social contact and provide opportunities for personal development of personnel involved in the field of animal production.

We work closely with researchers, government agencies and industry specialists to:

  • provide advice and/or consultations in the field of animal production to anyone interested
  • implement policies, research and development programmes in the government’s strategy for improved and increased animal production in the country.

The Society runs annual conferences and regular workshops/seminars for academics, researchers, students and people working in the livestock industry to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of animal science. It also publishes the Malaysian Journal of Animal Science (MJAS), an international peer-reviewed journals that publishes twice annually.
