The Malaysian Society of Animal Production (MSAP) was initiated and established on 24 September 1973.

MSAP is a professional society that serves as a platform for individuals associated with or interested in the field of animal production to build professional networks, foster collaboration, and promote personal and professional development.

Active Members

The Society works closely with researchers, government agencies, and industry specialists to:

  • Provide advice and consultations in the field of animal production.
  • Support government strategies, research, and development programmes aimed at improving and increasing animal production in Malaysia.

Advancing animal production through science, innovation, and collaboration

MSAP organizes annual conferences, workshops, and seminars for academics, researchers, students, and livestock industry professionals to exchange knowledge and research findings.

The Society also publishes the Malaysian Journal of Animal Science (MJAS), an international peer-reviewed journal published twice annually.

Professional Training

Promote training opportunities in Malaysia and abroad through Society funding and external support.

Consultancy Services

Provide professional advice and consultation services in animal production. Fees collected contribute to the Society and participating members as determined by the Executive Committee.

Government Collaboration

Provide expertise and collaborate with government agencies in implementing research, development programmes, and national animal production policies.

Grants & Scholarships

Accept grants, scholarships, fees, and other forms of assistance from government and organizations to support the Society's objectives.

Asset Management

Acquire movable or immovable property through purchase, grants, or aid to support Society activities.

Investment of Society Assets

Invest Society assets not immediately required to generate returns that support the Society's objectives.
